{Riley Blake Designs} Petals & Pots by Gabrielle Neil Design Studio

We're just sitting here enjoying the sunlight and dreaming of warm temperatures staying.  It's been unseasonably warm this week, but temperatures plummet tomorrow.  This new collection from Riley Blake Designs, though, has me swooning for Spring and Summer.

Petals & Pots is by Gabrielle Neil Design Studio for Riley Blake Designs and it's such a fun, whimsical (with a hint of modern with the geometric paver print) collection.  It was inspired by the hanging baskets of the designer's grandmothers.  I love the color palette and the ability to mix and match across the colorways.

I chose 3 prints for my daughter: Petals & Pots Main Blue, Petals & Pots Geometric Blue, and Petals & Pots Ladybugs Coral.  My daughter loves ladybugs so I knew I had to work them into her outfit!

I sewed up Lexington by Little Lizard King because it's a fun, yet dainty Spring/Summer dress that also has a coordinating faux front sash which makes it the perfect place for a third fabric choice.  I really love how the coral sash pulls out the floral in the skirt!!

My daughter loves to twirl so I cut a fuller skirt (used the entire width of the the fabric for each skirt piece).  While she was practicing her twirls, I grabbed the perfect shot!!

This back is perfect for summer and I love seeing the contrast of the coral ties against the blue back. Hurry up warm weather!!!

I love how soft the fabric is!  I've sewn many different woven cottons over the years and Riley Blake Designs' fabrics wash up incredibly soft each time!  Not only does it drape nicely,  it's super comfortable to wear.

I lined the bodice in the coral ladybugs and then rolled a smidgen of the lining to the front for a faux piping look without all the work...  I love how it outlines it and shows of the wrapped front bodice design.

I can't wait to see my daughter wearing this all the time!!

This collection is currently available!! Check your favorite quilt shop -- what is your favorite colorway above?
